Make the most of it

When we left MN to go to TX to be with GW for Christmas, the weather was mild with just a dusting of snow on the ground. That is all we have had since the "winter months" started. We had great traveling conditions all the way until we came to the northern border of TX. We had brought along lighter jackets in anticipation of warmer weather. Ha, ha!

How ironic...we ran into snow, slush and cold winds as we enter this "southern" state. When we stopped for gas, it was comical to see native Texans doing the shivering, shaking dance as they filled their gas tanks, blowing on their hands and covering their ears to escape the severe cold.

Hubby was out there without any coat to protect him. He smiled at the wimps that couldn't stand this swift change in temperatures. We heard that yesterday in Hillsboro (where we have stopped for the night) they had enjoyed temps that were close to 80 degrees. Oh, well..."Always a day late and a dollar short."

We are happy to be here getting closer and closer to seeing our son, GW.

I live in Littlefield, Tx, about 35 miles north of Lubbock. We had hardly any snow last year; but in November I think it was we woke up with over 14 inches of snow in our yard, & drifts as deep as 3 feet.
