Worried, Anxious, Sad?

Is it possible to enjoy life despite the constant difficulties that are present in our lives?

Maybe what we need is a Peace of the Rock on which to build our homes. If we build our lives on his word---we will have a solid foundation that will not be shaken when the storms of life come upon us. Jesus will be our personal architect. He gives us standards to live by so that when life’s tragedies come our house will not collapse.

It is not always easy to surrender our plans and let Jesus carry out his loving arrangements. We can’t always see the sense of what is going on in our lives. This divine builder will always be right there with us if we turn to Him. We are not destined to go through life on our own strength and courage.

Some people seek peace in things like marriage, wealth, education, intelligence, or a career. Those things can change in a moment’s time…then where can we turn for comfort and assurance? Things of this world can’t give us lasting peace…Seek the Rock!

I understand that it's comforting to belive in Jesus. Theoretically. But you say it's not always easy to surrender our plans and let Jesus carry out his loving arrangement. Surely it's easier to do that than it is to carry on living our own lives. Your own life is full of obstacles and problems which prey on your mind. Is it not easier to surrender the future to a jesus? Once you surrender yourself to jesus' will, what major decisions do you have to make? None, it's all the jesuses's will.

I have nothing to contend with faith and don't expect to convince you of my way of thinking but I'm sure you can appreciate the irony of someone offering a point of view without any concrete proof.

Frightlever,
That is the essence of faith...no proof. Proof is in the living. It is much easier once you turn to Christ for help, but for some it is hard to give up their own plans. Some think they have all the answers. For some it is hard to let go and trust in a Divine Being who is the essence of love. In God there is no evil. He only wishes that this human family would love. Most of the misery in this world is because we do not follow the loving plan that God has laid out for us.

God does not want a bunch of mindless sheep following him. He wants us to learn to make desisions on our own and live to our fullest potential. He gave us the ability to choose and we should use that gift.

You may say that we have no major decisions to make, but the reality is we should be making decisions and seeking his approval before carrying them out. We should allow ourselves to be flexible and bend to His will. Sometimes it is hard to remember that.

That is so true. the world rarely works the way I think it should and it's hard to let go of that sometimes!

lifehappens, Your comments are right on. We are not robots...each day is filled with choices that sow the seeds for tomorrow's harvest. If we sow seeds of discontent, rage, greed, selfishness, disrespect etc., tomorrow we will reap the harvest of regret, if we have a conscience at all. To be open to the voice of conscience (For me, this means listening to the Holy Spirit and steeping myself in Scripture so that I can put on the mind of Christ...follow His principles, His ways.) requires constant strength that we can always receive from our loving God.
